Dr Duane Mol is married to Dr Therina Mol and they have three daughters, Jodi, Kyra and Leeza.

He obtained his General Medical Degree (MBChB) in Pretoria in 1996 where after he went on to specialise and he obtained his M Med (ORL) degree Cum Laude in 2003 under the expert leadership of Professor Andre Claasen in Bloemfontein.

He qualified at the University of the Free State as an Otorhinolaryngologist (Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist) in 2003.

Duane started practising in Alberton as an ENT surgeon at the end of 2003 and also sees patients at The Johannesburg Cochlea Implant Centre on selected afternoons.

He has really focussed his expertise in the field of Otology (Ear Surgery) and Nasal Reconstructive Surgery.

Duane is involved as one of the Surgeons assisting in the “Hear for Life” Cochlea Implant Program for needy children and adults sponsored by Bidvest and 94.7 Highveld Stereo.

Duane is also the South African representative for the LION (Live International Otolaryngology Network) foundation, and serves on the faculty of the International Otology course (Causse Clinique) held annually in Beziers, France.

To date (April 2010) he has published four articles in internationally recognised medical journals, and regularly is involved in academic courses in South Africa for WITS Audiology Department, and Otology courses in SA.

Duane also has a"lighter" side, as he was the South African General Stage Magic Champion in 2002. This magic hobby keeps him busy on weekends and even after hours sometimes. Duane has performed over 1500 shows in South Africa alone and has also performed in numerous European countries over the years.
